Beginning therapy can be an intimidating and vulnerable experience. Because of this, it’s my priority to build a partnership with clients based in trust, respect, compassion, and acceptance. I recognize that no two individuals’ experiences are the same, so I’m committed to understanding and empathizing with each person’s unique situation.
I have extensive experience working with traumatic issues, and with survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse in particular. I feel privileged to support and hold space for my clients as we work to explore the feelings of grief, anger, and loss that often accompany a traumatic experience. To help them process traumatic memories more effectively, I often utilize my training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, or EMDR.
In addition to trauma work, I regularly meet with individuals who are struggling to navigate depression, anxiety, stress, OCD, PTSD, fertility/perinatal concerns, and self-esteem/identity issues. Along with EMDR, I like to incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, and other modalities into sessions as appropriate.
Some of my main clinical interests include emotion regulation and coping techniques, identity formation/self-concept, non-suicidal self-injury and self-harm behaviors, and perinatal mental health and attachment. I see individual clients of a variety of ages, including adolescents, adults, and seniors, and I am committed to supporting and celebrating the diversity and identity of all clients I meet with.
Please feel free to call or email for more information or to set up an appointment! I am happy to accept new clients when my schedule allows, and I am able to offer both in-person and telehealth therapy options.
